Dean David B. Jaffe is the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and American University, Washington College of Law. He oversees all aspects of the Office of Student Affairs. A committed steward of law student wellness, Dean Jaffe is the co-author of the 2014 and 2021 national surveys of law student well-being, and of articles on bar application character and fitness questions affecting students getting help while in law school. Jaffe regularly presents on these topics around the country; in 2022 he received the American Bar Association Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs Meritorious Service Award for Law Student Wellness.
